The Convention Centre Dublin
Testimonial
"The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) worked with DCE for the first time at Confex 2011. As a new major international venue, we provided a detailed brief for a 40sqm stand that needed to make a big impact for all the right reasons to demonstrate the quality, capabilities and personality of The CCD. Our designer recommended DCE, who turned the design concept into a reality to great effect; we received some fantastic compliments from our clients and from our competitors. We were extremely impressed with the quality of the build and the professionalism of the team for whom nothing was too much trouble."

Case Study
Background
In January 2011, we began working with The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) to create a stand for Confex 2011, the UK's key conference and exhibitions industry trade show, held at Earl's Court on 1-3 March 2011.
The CCD is Ireland's first purpose-built international convention and event venue, designed by award-winning architect Kevin Roche and located centrally in the city on the banks of the River Liffey. Opened in September 2010, The CCD is a premium-priced venue reflecting the quality of the building, which provides the very latest technology, offers outstanding service and has a fantastic location in one of Europe's key destinations.
Brief
With a short lead-time, the emphasis of the design and the brief was on making a strong positive impact but ensuring that visually the stand reflected the brand's emphasis on quality, being contemporary and modern, and being distinctively Irish.
Stand
The 40sqm stand was 10m x 4m and open on three sides, with a 4m high back wall containing storage, housing two large plasma screens and with prominent branding displayed across the top. The stand had two sofa seating areas and a large central counter/reception desk with stools. It was important that the stand enabled a free flow of visitors whilst also providing areas for sales representatives to talk to clients and prospects about the venue, which had only been open for six months.
Results
The CCD stand was constructed to meet the brief, on time, on brand and within budget. The quality of the build and the friendly, helpful attitude of the DCE team received extremely positive feedback from The CCD team.
The stand was practical in terms of layout, provided the right amount of space for meeting clients and plenty of storage for collateral and consumables. It attracted high footfall and had a strong visual impact. It ticked all the right boxes for The CCD.
